Apps that ship, then keep shipping.

iOS and Android app development from a two-person Adelaide studio: native-quality apps with the backend, App Store submission and ongoing updates included, for a fixed quote instead of an app-farm invoice.

Getting an app built usually means one of two stories. An agency with a project manager, a delivery lead and a six-figure quote for a prototype. Or a cheap build that ships once, never gets updated, and quietly dies a few iOS versions later. Either way the backend is an afterthought and the invoice is not.

Webgrid is the other option: two senior people who build the app, the backend and the infrastructure as one job. iOS and Android come from one build with a native-quality experience, the APIs and data are designed properly rather than bolted on, and App Store submission is handled for you. You talk to the people writing the code and see working builds in short cycles.

One honest note before any of that: an app is rarely the first step. If your customers would be better served by a fast web app, we will say so and build you the cheaper thing. When an app is the right call, ours ship with offline support and push notifications, and they keep getting updated. Fixed quote in writing before any commitment.

What we build.

01

iOS & Android, one build

Both platforms from one codebase, without feeling like a compromise.

  • Native-quality experience
  • One build, both stores
  • Cheaper to change and keep
  • Swift where it earns it
02

Backend & APIs included

The half of the app users never see, done properly.

  • APIs designed, not bolted on
  • Laravel and AWS underneath
  • Stripe payments where needed
  • Built to outlast launch
03

Offline & notifications

Works in a dead spot, speaks up when it matters.

  • Works offline
  • Push notifications
  • Syncs when back online
  • Tested on real devices
04

App Store handled

Submission, review and release, done for you.

  • Submission handled
  • Listing set up properly
  • Releases managed
  • Updates keep it alive
05

Companion apps

A mobile arm for the system your business already runs.

  • Apps for staff or customers
  • Wired into your existing system
  • Web, iOS and infrastructure, one team
  • Proven with Members One

// proof

On the App Store, still updated.

Members One. A winery membership platform on the web, and MO POS, a full point of sale app on the App Store, running cellar doors from an iPad or iPhone. Web, iOS and infrastructure from one team, which is exactly what the client singles out: it all just works together. read the case study

Lend1. A web platform, not an app, because that was the right call for how brokers work. That judgement is the first thing an app project gets from us too. read the case study

How it works.

01

Scoped in plain English

What the app must do, who uses it, and whether an app is even the right first step. Then a fixed quote in writing. If a web app serves you better, we say so here.

02

Built in short cycles

Working builds on your own phone early, not screenshots in a slide deck. You steer while steering is cheap.

03

Shipped properly

The backend goes live on infrastructure we run, App Store submission is handled, and Android ships alongside. Launch is a release, not a cliff.

04

Kept updating

OS changes, fixes and improvements keep coming, with monitoring on the backend. Apps rot without updates. Ours are maintained by the people who built them.

// faq

Questions, answered straight.

How much does an app cost?

Less than an app farm will quote and more than a website: apps are an investment, and we give you a fixed quote in writing after scoping instead of a day rate and a shrug. Building iOS and Android from one codebase keeps the number sane. And if the honest answer is that a web app does the job for less, we tell you before you spend app money.

Do we need both iOS and Android?

Usually yes for customer-facing apps, and with one codebase the second platform is not a second project. Staff and hardware apps can be different: MO POS is iOS because cellar doors run on iPads and iPhones. Scoping settles it based on who actually holds the phone.

Do you handle the App Store?

Yes, the whole path: developer accounts, the listing, submission, review and releases. Apple's review has its own timetable, which nobody controls, so we plan for it rather than promise around it. Updates after launch go through us too, so the app never sits abandoned on the store.

What about the backend?

Included, and designed first rather than bolted on. Accounts, data, payments and sync run on APIs we build with Laravel on AWS, hosted and monitored by us. An app without a proper backend is a screenshot. Most of the apps that die young die back there, so that is where we start.

What happens after launch?

The app keeps getting updated and the backend keeps being watched, for a flat monthly amount agreed up front. OS updates land, bugs get fixed, improvements ship, and the monitoring is on infrastructure we run. The people who built it stay the people who look after it.

Do we actually need an app?

Maybe not, and we will tell you. An app earns its place when people use it often enough to want it on the home screen, or when you need offline, push notifications or the phone's hardware. If it is really a website with ambition, a fast web app costs less and reaches everyone. We build both, so we have no reason to sell you the wrong one.

More of an internal-tools problem than an app problem?
